The FCYLC boys program for 2025 consists of the following age levels:

• 6U clinic - 1 hour per week to introduce young players to the sport
• 8U modified (smaller) field
• 10U full field
• 12U full field
• 14U full field

Our teams include a mix of experienced and first-time players. To determine for which age level your son is eligible, use the NVYLL boys age group calendar. No prior lacrosse experience is necessary. Rental equipment (helmet, gloves, shoulder pads, and elbow pads) is available, including used lacrosse sticks.

Spring Season

Lacrosse is primarily a spring sport. Our home field is Meridian High School in Falls Church, VA.

Beginning in February, we host preseason practices that are more of a clinic format. Players of all skill levels shake off the rust and work through different drills and stations with our coaches. We realize that many kids have basketball or other conflicts, so attendance is not required -- come when you can! 

For 2025, these practices / clinics begin on February 1st and continue through March 8th from 1:00 - 2:30 pm on the upper turf field at Meridian High School, provided the weather is reasonable. Reminder emails go out each week. We will attempt to schedule a scrimmage on Saturday, March 15th to provide a game-like experience.

Our teams typically play 8 regular season games on Saturdays beginning in late March and ending the weekend prior to Memorial Day, skipping Easter weekend, with two games played on one of the weekends. Home games are at Meridian HS, away games are typically within 1 hour drive.

For 2025, our draft schedule will be:

• 6U - Sundays from 4 - 5 pm at Roberts Park in Falls Church
• 8U - Mondays and Thursday from 5:45 - 7:15 pm at Graham Rd ES 
• 10U - Wednesday and Fridays from 5:45 - 7:15 pm at Graham Rd ES
• 12U & 14U - Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:30 - 9:00 pm at the Meridian High School upper turf field

Games begin on Saturday, March 22nd, skip April 20th, then continue through May 17/18th (the last weekend for playoffs).

Summer

We traditionally host four summer clinic sessions during the summer in Falls Church.

Fall 

Many of our players participate in a game-only (no formal practices) outdoor box lacrosse league at McLean High School. Box lacrosse is played on a smaller field with hockey-like walls, creating a more fast-paced, high-scoring game.

Fun Extras

Youth Night at Meridian High School

In addition to our normal practice and game schedule, our younger teams (8U & 10U) will be scheduled to play a brief scrimmage during half-time of a Meridian HS lacrosse game, typically in April. Since many current high school players got their start in FCYLC, this is always a thrill.

For 2025, this MHS Youth Night will be held on Thursday, April 24th.

City of Falls Church Memorial Day Parade

We cap the season inviting our players to wear their FCYLC t-shirts and walk in the annual City of Falls Church Memorial Day Parade.
