Falls Church Youth Lacrosse Needs Volunteers to help!
The Falls Church Youth Lacrosse Club is a non-profit youth sports organization,that needs and welcomes your assistance. We offer a wide range of opportunities to help support programs for children of all ages and abilities. FCYLC is always seeking volunteers to help with coaching, managing and special events. If you have a player involved we would like your help in making this the most successful program in Falls Church.
Some of the spots where we need help include:
Securing Sponsorships
As a all-volunteer, non-profit community organization, FCYLC needs and welcomes fundraising. Help the club secure sponsorship, fund raising, secure sponsors for special events, invite special guests to promote the club.
Team Parents
Responsible for coordination of team activities, team communications and coordination with Head Coach. Includes preparation of team level game & practice schedule, roster, communication of schedule changes, team snack and team party activities.
Assistant Team Parents
Assist Team Parent are also needed!
Special Events
Help coordinate club special events that might benefit the Lacrosse players in Falls Church.
Score Keepers
Work with Head Coach, Field Commissioner and assigned Referees to keep official score for all games FCYLChosts at our home field. This position should be on a team basis and rotated amoung various team families.
Field Commissioners
Help coordinate and setup field for games that FCYLC hosts. May be required to act as a referee in the event that the official referees do not show up for a game. (This may be an issue in 2005 with the new Refere Contract). Ideally this position will be a Team function and rotated through the Team Parent.
Team Head Coach
Requires reasonable lacrosse skills plus an understanding of sports strategies and tactics. If you have coached basketball, soccer, or other sports lacrosse might be a nice fit as well. USA Lacrosse Certification is required for the spring league season and the necessary clinics are covered by the club.
Team Assistant Coach
Reasonable sports skills are required. Certification is not required for an assistant, but is recommen
